Bexhill Horse Show

1903-2017

Welcome to the official website of Bexhill Horse Show

Every year on the Late May Bank Holiday Monday, Bexhill-on-Sea hosts a very special show.

The first annual Bexhill Horse show was held in 1903 as a community show for working people to come together and show off their treasured and hard working horses.

Today, it is one of the only shows of it’s kind left in the country, aimed at bringing the local community together. Be they horse lovers or not, this show has an attraction for everyone.

In 2014 the time had come to give the show a new identity and we launched a brand new logo which bought the horse and the charity dog show together to show how this long standing community event brings the town of bexhill and its residents together with horses and their favourite canine companions to show what a truly unique event this show is to Bexhill on sea. We hope you like it and it will become the face of our long standing event.

This year Bexhill Horse Show has a number of new and exciting attractions as well as some old favourites.

As always we have the majestic Shire Horses from South Eastern Shire Horse Association and the much loved and crowd pleasing Coakham Blood Hounds will parade in the Main Ring throughout the day. We also have a Flyball display team who will be putting their speedy and co-ordinated canines through their paces in the Main Ring.

New for 2015 will be the introduction of a side saddle costume class. Watch these beautiful turnouts in historic dress as the parade the show ground, something you may never have seen before and a step back in time to the days when ladies never rode astride.

As always, the show offers a variety of jumping classes for amateur and professional riders and many in-hand and ridden showing classes, including Mountain and Moorland and Working Hunter classes. This show also offers spectators a chance to see driving horses in action and these turnouts are always a sight to behold.

A dog show will also be held. Commencing at 12.30pm with something for every dog owner and type of dog. There are classes for both pedigree dogs and family pets, adults and children are welcome. All proceeds to St Michaels Hospice. For more information on this incredible charity visit www.stmichaelshospice.org

Back by popular demand, our Dog Showjumping class is a family friendly class that sees every type of pooch and their owners tackle a course of jumps in the fastest possible time. Although this class is “just for fun”, it’s amazing how competitive the participants get and often the handlers jump more than the dogs! great entertainment for everyone and all proceeds to St Michaels Hospice.

Want to get involved? We are always looking for volunteers and sponsorship for the show so why not get in touch today and find out how you can help. Click here to contact us.
